What We Provide:

Once booked and a deposit paid, children’s birthday parties take the form of a survival and bushcraft activities day.

Morning

• Arrive and ready to start at Footsteps of Discovery, C/O, The Duchy Of Cornwall, Nantillio Wood, Mitchell, Nr Truro, TR8 5BG. for 1000hrs.

• Camp Layout – Rules of the Woods – Introduction

• Team Building Games (Ice Breaker)

• Fire lighting, open fire basic lunch cooked by the youngsters. Followed by clean up and check stores.

 

Afternoon
More Survival & Bushcraft Skills (Activity will depend on average group age) Older more skills.

• Depart 1500hrs

 

Prices

The total cost for the day is £18.00 per youngster, (Including VAT) with a minimum of 10 young people attending. (Example: If only 7 youngsters turn up the cost is still £180.00). For numbers over 10, each additional youngster will cost £12.00 each, (Including VAT) up to a maximum of 20. (Note: Projected numbers must be received in advance in order to obtain extra Instructional Staff).

Adult Supervision

In addition to the Footsteps of Discovery staff, adult supervisors from the booking organisation are required to attend and assist where necessary. They should also be able to point out the different personalities and special requirements of the youngsters attending.

Clothing and Equipment

Old clothing including waterproofs will be required in addition to; stout footwear, Wellington boots and gloves for inclement weather. All other training equipment is provided by Footsteps of Discovery.

Summary

The total cost of £18.00 per young person includes the following:

 

• Basic open fire, food (sausages, bread etc) tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, juice, land hire, and full indemnity insurance cover. All staff are CRB Enhanced with current first aid qualifications.

• Risk Assessments are available on request.

• A day with a difference – learning life skills for the future.
